Side Event of EUROPEAN DesertNet and Oasis Oasis - a global agricultural research-for-development partnership against desertification - joined the User Board of European DesertNet in February 2007. At the Side Event in Madrid both scientific bodies signed a Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in effect for the next five years. Considering that NGOs play a crucial role in the issues of the UNCCD, European DeserNet also invited Drynet to give a presentation at the Side Event.
