Workshop of the Working Group on Dryland Observation System of European DesertNet
(Hamburg, Germany, 6th and 7th September 2007)

Over 30 scientists from France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Spain, Syria and the United Kingdom discussed the development of an international terrestrial observation system for land use impacts and climate change in drylands. As the response to the topic was high a series of thematic workshops is now being planned by European DesertNet. The Workshop was organised by the Secretariat of European DesertNet at the Biocentre Klein Flottbek and Botanical Garden, Hamburg and funded by the University of Hamburg. The meeting was hosted at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg.
